Monarch Mountain was founded in 1939 is located at the top of the Continental Divide and is Colorado’s second oldest ski area. Well known for it’s friendly hospitality and abundance of snow – to the tune or 350 inches. Over 800 acres of in-bounds and an additional 1000 + acres of snowcat terrain make skiing/riding Monarch an unforgettable experience. For the 2006-2007 season Monarch has committed over $ 1 million in improvements to enhance the guest experience. In addition to the new ski and ride school facilities, new rental shop, and slope side restrooms added last season, they have expanded our gift shop. Family-orientated, Monarch offers excellent children’s programs with hourly, half and full-day lesson schedules.
